Il Leaf Meter è un simbolo, ma anche un sistema reale di misurazione del progetto Leaf Community, comunità ecosostenibile, la prima nelle Marche e in Italia, testimonianza reale della sostenibilità possibile. Nella Leaf Community si conduce una vita normale, ma si trasforma sole, acqua, aria, in progetti e crescita concreti, con l’utilizzo di tecnologie leggere e flessibili e risultati monitorabili, consumi consapevoli e costi economici ridotti. Ma ancora di più con costi ambientali nulli, totalmente annullati. La Leaf House è un laboratorio reale e visitabile e a Vancouver è stato portato soltanto il Leaf Meter che ne è il simbolo.
Quello che il Gruppo Loccioni ha voluto dimostrare, però, è che la sostenibilità da sola non basta a generare cambiamenti sostenibili nel mondo. Serve consapevolezza, servono comportamenti adeguati e sostenibili che abbiano a cuore la salute del pianeta. Leaf Meter rappresenta un passo avanti gigantesco e anche il simbolo di un’integrazione possibile tra la tecnologia e la natura entrambe comprensibili dell’uomo.
E ci sono i primi dati concreti dopo un anno di Leaf Community, con un risparmio dei costi abitativi pari al 20% e un azzeramento totale del consumo ambientale: l’impianto fotovoltaico, ad esempio (copre una superficie di 150 mq con 115 pannelli), che ha prodotto nel 2009 quasi 25 mila kWh e se si considera che i consumi per illuminazione e le utenze in un condominio medio di 480 mq, sono di 20 mila Kwh l’anno e quello della Leaf House di appena 9.658… il calcolo è presto fatto. Anche il fabbisogno di acqua sanitaria è soddisfatto da 7 pannelli termici che coprono una superficie di 15 mq. Sono questi sette pannelli che coprono il 63% del fabbisogno termico dell’acqua sanitaria. Tra l’efficienza energetica, il tetto fotovoltaico e la vita rispettosa della natura la Leaf House in un anno ha evitato oltre 34 mila chili di CO2 in atmosfera. Utilizzando acqua piovana per l’irrigazione e l’acqua di vena per i sanitari, ha risparmiato anche il 69% sui consumi idrici totali.

Until 20th February at Casa Italia, building that accommodates the Italian team athletes for Vancouver winter Olympic Games, at the entrance, there is the Leaf Meter of Loccioni Group that with other Italian greatness, is a part of Farnesina Collection Design of the Foreign Ministry. The Leaf Meter is a symbol, but also a real system of measurement of the plan Leaf Community, eco-sustainable community, the first in the Marches region and Italy, authentic demonstration of the possible sustainability. The first concrete data, after one year of Leaf Community, have recorded a saving housing costs of 20% and setting at zero the environment consumption: the photovoltaic system, for example (150 sm. with 115 panels), that it has produced in the year 2009 nearly 25000 kWh. Also the requirement of sanitary water is fulfilled from 7 thermal panels that covers a surface of 15 sm. This seven panels cover 63% of the thermal requirements of the sanitary water. Among the energetic efficiency, the photovoltaic roof and the respect for nature the Leaf House in one year has avoided beyond 34000 kg of CO2 in atmosphere. Using rain water for irrigation and the well water for sanitary fittings, it has saved also 69% on the total consumption water.
