Sono passati 40 anni dalla DOC, dieci dal riconoscimento di “Miglior vino bianco del mondo”, ha appena ricevuto la DOCG. Il Verdicchio, con il suo sapore caratteristico, con le uve da cui proviene che si sposano perfettamente con il microclima delle Marche fino a dare origine a questo vino così conosciuto nel mondo, è sicuramente un testimonial considerevole di questo territorio, carico di significati.
Della regione e della provincia di Ancona racchiude in sé tutte le caratteristiche: parla di dolci colline, del lavoro dell’uomo, di un piccolo lembo di terra che profuma di storia e tradizioni, di campi coltivati. Ma ha in sé anche quel mare che vede dai filari e il cui odore salmastro arriva insieme alla brezza. Il Verdicchio, insomma, racchiude, in un solo sorso, odori e sapori, pensieri e storie, fatica e amore, capacità e tradizioni: è un portatore sano di valori, tutte quelle caratteristiche che fanno parte delle Marche e rappresentano il nostro grande patrimonio intangibile. E’ seguendo queste motivazioni che abbiamo realizzato un volume sul Verdicchio, con la precisa intenzione di cominciare a legare questo nobile bianco alla sua piccola regione di provenienza.
E’ fondamentale per ogni territorio e lo è ancora di più per le Marche, non del tutto consapevoli dell’eredità che hanno ricevuto dal passato e che si apprestano a portare nel futuro, della necessità di condivisione di tali ricchezze e del bisogno forte di legarsi al proprio “oro liquido” e non soltanto a questo. Ci auguriamo che possa arrivare un giorno nel quale anche nel più remoto paese del mondo si chieda, a tavola, un Verdicchio proveniente dalle Marche, terra di monti e mare, inframezzati da una fascia di colline che non hanno uguali in questo pianeta, ma che hanno la capacità di rimanere nel cuore per ciò che rappresentano, per ciò che raccontano, per ciò che racchiudono, per ciò che fanno vivere. Colline che, anche a distanza, mostrano con orgoglio le loro vigne, perfettamente disegnate con i colori delle stagioni, allegre o malinconiche a seconda del bacio del sole. E’ il testimoniare tutto questo che chiediamo al Verdicchio e a ciascuno di noi.

Forty years are spent from the D.O.C., ten years from the acknowledgment of “Better white wine in the world”, have just received the D.O.C.G.. The Verdicchio, with its features, of the region and of the province of Ancona speaks about sweet hills, of the man’s job, a small strip of the earth that smell of history and traditions, of cultivated fields. But it has in itself also the sea that sees from the rows and whose brackish smell arrives with the breeze.
The Verdicchio encloses, in one drop only, smells and tastes, thoughts and histories, hard work and passion, skills and traditions: he is an healthy bearer of values that represent the great intangible patrimony of the Marches. Following these reasons, we have realized a volume about the Verdicchio: they are fundamental for each territory and still more for the Marches, not completely aware of the inheritance that they have received from the past and that they are going to carry in the future.
We wish that arrive the day in which also in the most back country of the world someone ask at the table, a Verdicchio coming from the Marches, land of mounts and sea alternated from one area of hills that haven’t equal in the world, but remain in the heart for what they represent, tell, and enclose. Hills that, even in the distance, show with pride their vineyard, traced with the colours of the seasons, happy or melancholic in according to the sun kiss. It’s testify all this one that we ask to Verdicchio and to each of us.
