Stavo pensando ai tempi antichi, quando, sotto il mio vessillo, era il desiderio di primeggiare che muoveva le flotte. Ma quelli erano appunto i tempi antichi e la Serenissima era infastidita dai mercanti/marinai di Ancona quasi come un bisonte con una mosca particolarmente dispettosa! Oggi non si dovrebbe più essere mossi da motivi campanilistici, oggi che l’Italia è tutta una, tutta intera. Si parla tanto di gioco di squadra (e il calcio è diventato anche per questo lo sport nazionale…), ma come al solito non siamo capaci di guardare al di là del naso. C’è tutto un mondo, fuori dai nostri confini nazionali, che si muove e reagisce e guarda avanti e si organizza, mentre noi stiamo conducendo le guerre fra poveri, tra il porto di Trieste e quello di Taranto, escludendo i fastidiosi, annettendo gli amici. Non abbiamo ancora capito che i nostri piccoli porti saranno vincenti solo se giocheranno questa partita tutti insieme, solo se guardando al futuro capiranno che cosa maggiormente rappresenta quello che “vogliamofare da grandi”. Purtroppo per noi, mentre siamo in tutt’altre faccende affaccendati, anche i porti del nord Africa ce la stanno facendo sotto il naso e in termini di organizzazione, investimenti e lungimiranza hanno molto da spiegarci e farci capire. Soprattutto da insegnarci. Insomma, è più che mai arrivato il momento di abbassare le creste e tutti insieme, con molta umiltà e disponibilità, cercare di capire che cosa vogliamo nel nostro futuro, guardando ai territori, a quanto sviluppato, a quando da
fare, agli investimenti, alle riconversioni. E alle vocazioni, perché sicuramente contano. Ciò che per secoli ci ha condotto per mano non può essere abbandonato solo perché il porto vicino ha aperto un traffico diverso, o sta vivendo una stagione aurea perché si è mosso per tempo e in modo coordinato con il territorio. Fermiamoci solo un attimo per cercare di capire. Il futuro è già domani e non aspetta.
What will do the ports in the future?
I was thinking at the olden times, when, under my flag, there was the desire to be the first that moved the fleets. But if refer at olden times and Venice was annoyed by the merchants/sailors of Ancona nearly like
a bison with an annoying fly! Today it would not have to be nationalists. It’s spoken so much about team game, but as usual we are not able to watch beyond our nose. There is all a beautiful world, out
of our national borders, that reacts and looks into the future , while we are leading the wars between poor, between the port of Trieste and that one of Taranto, excluding the annoying people, including the friends.
We have not still understood that our small ports will be winning only if will play this game all together. Unfortunately for us, while we are busy, the ports of the North Africa only, are privileged in terms of organization, investments and farsightedness, they have much to explain us. Above all to teach us. Now it’s the moment, to take the wind down, with much humility and availability, to try to understand what we want in our future. Let’s stop just a moment in order to try to understand. The future is already tomorrow and it does not wait for.
